Farm Women Should be Furious
If reading it doesn’t make you a little disgusted than click somewhere else because I’m going on a rant.
The article’s basic premiss is that if there were more farm women there would be fewer starving people. Men are heartless, uncaring, greedy pigs.
Did you know that for food security women are crucial? Reporters love scare tactics as well as gender warfare. The writer failed to add that the report was talking about women working on plots in underdeveloped nations had a lower yield then men because of lack of access to inputs. As this article states. Bigger yields for these women would help the over all production of food supply. This is true. But this info is left out in the article that I am high lighting here. The writer tries to make it out that if only there were more farm women fewer people would starve “because of the ways women are likely to allocate resources”. Men can not be trusted. But the number of malnourished people is decreasing. How can this be with a male dominated agricultural industry?
Finishing up the article is the classic “for the women and children”. Men are only counted in “society at large” if they have to be included at all.
Why can’t there be more stories like the female farmers in Southeast Asia are pooling resources and marketing their products that was mentioned? But we only get good guy/bad guy articles. Or do I have to say, “gal”?
